Lincoln books since 1995

Many reviewers have hailed the publication of David Herbert Donald’s magisterial Lincoln (1995) as definitive, but there have been hundreds of Lincoln books published since, including dozens of new biographies. Matthew Pinsker surveys this literature and speculates about the future of the field in his essay, “Lincoln Theme 2.0.” The following table details the scholarship that informed his work. The table is both searchable and sortable. To sort by various categories click on the top of the column in the shaded title area. The search box appears just above the table on the upper left corner. The software for this easy-to-use interface comes from the Simile Project at mit, a new open-source experiment in managing digital assets.
