& ecclesiastic Jealousies, Jealousy in
Friendship, and between the Sexes; each of
which has a different effect on the mind
from all the others, & several of them,
if carried to any considerable length,
are generally attended with danger-
-ous consequences: especially the two
kinds last mentioned, Jealousy in
Friendship, & between the Sexes;
for in friendship when two persons
of agreeable tempers, have by long
acquaintance proved each others
fidelity, so as to communicate all
their secret intentions to each other,
& have contracted a particular esteem
between themselves, if by any means,
whether false or true, the one be-
-comes suspicious that the regard,
