to a particularly important message from Miss
L.M. which you had not at that time
received, and you said if nothing extraordinary
occur’d on it, you would disclose it to me; the
subject is so trifling, that perhaps when you
read it, you will be ready to recall your trou-
-ble in writing and charge me with folly;
for the trifiling presumption of imposing
so far upon your modesty, as to make a pro-
-posal of your requesting such an imper-
-tinent jest; but I must beg your pardon,
and most gladly make up your trouble of
requesting it, by presenting you a copious
answer.---- I received your letter yes-
-terday, it filled me with anxiety when
I read your request, not hardly daring to
propose it to you altho' I could not recall
what I had wrote before, or I should most
willingly have done it; however, I hope
