Who preaches near, is now
over the Apalachian Moun-
-tains. And indeed our tire-
-some Ride made us Will-
-ing to stay at Home.
The Continental Spirit is
here, but retarded by internal
Division concerning the Mode
of appointing Officers. This
Colony is, in general, much
distressed with [Dunmor's?]
"proceedings" but they are
yet veiwed as weak & in suf-
-ficient.
I wrote home by the Post to
Day to my dear absent Betsey;
& to Joseph Bloomfield Esq. I
fear however their safety as
the public are so jealous of
what is passing by letter through
Fithian Papers, Manuscripts Division,
Department of Rare Books and Special Collections, Princeton University Library.
