est Importance, if under due Regulations
if not, they are Slings & Daggers in the
Breasts of Men, which destroy all their
Quiet & Hapiness.
A good Judgement therefore & Regu-
lation sufficient to govern them
rightly, are all that is necessary to
make them of very great Advantage
to us: But the want of these hin-
ders us from doing Actions which
are noble & truly great.
Yet it cannot be denied but
that many Men destroy the Use
for which the Creator of our Passions
formed them, being governed by a
wicked & a deceitful Inclination;
This hurtful & dangerous Inclination
Showing itself also Sometimes in
those who are ruled by a better Tem-
