had gone beside himself, & was distracted;
the first open attempt that he made
was upon Rachel, and Ame, threatening
them with immediate Death; but was
happily prevented by the help of Joel,
and their Father. The whole circum-
-stances of this dreadfull scene was
remarkable; for all the week before,
his master was at Philadelphia, and
several days and nights his mistress
was at Deerfield; and Joel was from
home some evenings; and why was
he not permitted now to execute his hor-
